Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales, (Director, Internationalization) and Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (Director, Alumni, External Relations, and Advocacies) presented their research paper on Internationalization and Interculturality in both regional and international fora respectively.
On September 5, 2023, Dr. Morales presented the “Status of Internationalization Program Implementation of Region 2 HEIs (IZN Scoping for Region 2).” His study discussed the status of implementation of internationalization programs among HEIs of Region 2 by examining several factors concerning the implementation of internationalization. The commissioned research endeavor gathered data on the niche area of the participating institutions as well as their reasons for internationalization. Moreover, inclusion of internationalization programs and activities in the school function was the focus of the presentation.
Dr. Lappay’s presentation, on the other hand, was held in a webinar of the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) on Global Citizenship through Culture in Education. He presented the interculturality of SPUP along the University’s educational designs. The research highlighted the following interculturality features: SPUP’s diverse profile manifested through the academic members’ cultural backgrounds and faith affiliations; SPUP’s practices along learning environment, policies and regulations, and programs and activities towards intercultural engagement; and SPUP’s ability to foster a cultural experience integral of the Paulinian Core Values.
