SPUP-BEU TEACHERS CONVENE FOR EMPOWERMENT SEMINAR

November 09, 2023 – The faculty members of SPUP Basic Education Unit (BEU) convened for an enpowerment seminar at the Mo. Madeleine Hall on “The Art of Questioning for Higher Order Thinking Skills.” Dr. Cellie SL Santos (Member, SPUP Board of Trustees), an educational expert, graced the BEU teaching force with her insightful and practical presentation on effective questioning techniques. Accordingly, “a good teacher asks a question very well.”
In her discussion, Dr. Santos emphasized that utilizing higher order questioning enables students to convert information to knowledge, and move from knowledge acquisition to knowledge application.
An interactive engagement ensued after the presentation, wherein some teachers related their experiences pertinent to the topic. The seminar ended with acknowledgement and thanksgiving.
