SPUP PARTICIPATES IN ERASMUS+ TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON PROJECT PATHWAY

May 16-20, 2022 – SPUP delegation, composed of Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President), Sr. Maria Lirio Gavan, SPC (Vice President for Finance), Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, Internationalization), Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (Director, Alumni, External Relations, and Advocacies) and Mrs. Belen Lim (Coordinator, Employability and Entrepreneurship Laboratory) participated in the Training of Trainers for the Erasmus+ consortium project on “Promoting the employAbility and enTrepreneurship of Higher education graduates through innovative WAYs in the Philippines (PATHWAY).” The said training, held at the University of Montpellier in France, was also attended by delegates from the Commission on Higher Education, European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Benguet State University.
The training of trainers included plenary talks, group workshops and discussions, and institutional presentations aimed at understanding how European Union partners inspire and support students to become entrepreneurs, defining the roles of universities, companies, and students relevant to entrepreneurial incubation and contribution to students’ entrepreneurship, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to foster support to the entrepreneurial market in the Philippines. The said training was spearheaded by Ms. Manon Martinez (Project Member, University of Montpellier) and Ms. Cristina Beans (Project Member, University of Alicante).
On May 23, 2022, the SPUP team visited the University of Alicante in Spain, and they engaged in discussions with the institution’s Higher Management and Employment Center on the support they render to student and graduate employability and entrepreneurship. The delegates were welcomed by Dr. Juan Llopis (Director of Institutional Projects and Relations). Ms. Esther Gallego conducted an orientation on the Employment and Disability Center of the University. They were also presented with the engagement of both the University and students on entrepreneurial development and entrepreneurship support.
